ye tv ātma-rāma-gurubhir hṛdi cintitāṅghri-
dvandvaṁ carantam umayā tapasābhitaptam
katthanta ugra-paruṣaṁ nirataṁ śmaśāne
te nūnam ūtim avidaṁs tava hāta-lajjāḥ

 | Exalted, self-satisfied persons who preach to the entire world think of your lotus feet constantly within their hearts. However, when persons who do not know your austerity see you moving with Umā, they misunderstand you to be lusty, or when they see you wandering in the crematorium they mistakenly think that you are ferocious and envious. Certainly they are shameless. They cannot understand your activities. | | | Personas excelsas y satisfechas en sí mismas que predican al mundo entero piensan constantemente en tus pies de loto dentro del corazón. Sin embargo, aquellos que no saben de tu austeridad, te ven acompañado de Umā y te toman por una persona lujuriosa, y cuando te ven deambular por el crematorio cometen el error de considerarte violento y envidioso. En verdad, esos desvergonzados no pueden comprender tus actividades. | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | Lord Śiva is the topmost Vaiṣṇava (vaiṣṇavānāṁ yathā śambhuḥ). It is therefore said, vaiṣṇavera kriyā-mudrā vijñe nā bujhaya. Even the most intelligent person cannot understand what a Vaiṣṇava like Lord Śiva is doing or how he is acting. Those who are conquered by lusty desires and anger cannot estimate the glories of Lord Śiva, whose position is always transcendental. In all the activities associated with lusty desires, Lord Śiva is an implement of ātma-rāma. Ordinary persons, therefore, should not try to understand Lord Śiva and his activities. One who tries to criticize the activities of Lord Śiva is shameless. | | | El Señor Śiva es el vaiṣṇava más elevado (vaiṣṇavānāṁ yathā śambhuḥ). Por consiguiente, en las Escrituras se dice: vaiṣṇavera kriyā-mudrā vijñe nā bujhaya: Ni siquiera la persona más inteligente puede entender los actos y el modo de actuar de un vaiṣṇava como el Señor Śiva. Quienes se dejan dominar por la ira y los deseos de disfrute no pueden apreciar las glorias del Señor Śiva, cuya posición es siempre trascendental.
