tasmāt tvatto mahīm īṣad
vṛṇe ’haṁ varadarṣabhāt
padāni trīṇi daityendra

TRANSLATION — TRADUCCION
 | O King of the Daityas, from Your Majesty, who come from such a noble family and who are able to give charity munificently, I ask only three paces of land, to the measurement of My steps. | | | Ésa es la noble familia de que procedes, ¡oh, majestad, rey de los daityas! Tú sabes ser muy generoso dando caridad, pero sólo te pediré tres pasos de tierra, medidos conforme a Mi tamaño. | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | Lord Vāmanadeva wanted three paces of land according to the measurement of His footsteps. He did not want more than necessary. But although He pretended to be an ordinary human child, He actually wanted the land comprising the upper, middle and lower planetary systems. This was just to show the prowess of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. | | | El Señor Vāmanadeva quería tres pasos de tierra, medidos en proporción a Su tamaño. No quería más de lo necesario. Pero, aunque Se hacía pasar por un niño humano corriente, en realidad quería toda la tierra comprendida en los sistemas planetarios superior, medio e inferior. Lo hacía así para mostrar el poderío de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios. | | |
