 | Even if one chants the Hare Kṛṣṇa mahā-mantra offensively, one can avoid offenses by continuously chanting without deviation. One who becomes accustomed to this practice will always remain in a pure transcendental position, untouchable by sinful reactions. Śukadeva Gosvāmī especially requested King Parīkṣit to note this fact very carefully. There is no profit, however, in executing the Vedic ritualistic ceremonies. By performing such activities one may go to the higher planetary systems, but as stated in Bhagavad-gītā (9.21), kṣīṇe puṇye martya-lokaṁ viśanti: when the period of one’s enjoyment in the heavenly planets is terminated because of the limited extent of the results of one’s pious activities, one must return to earth. Thus there is no use in endeavoring to travel up and down in the universe. It is better to chant the holy name of the Lord so that one may become fully purified and eligible to return home, back to Godhead. That is the aim of life, and that is the perfection of life. | | | Al cantar el mahā-mantra Hare Kṛṣṇa es posible incurrir en ofensas, pero esas ofensas llegan a evitarse si se continúa cantando sin desviación. Aquel que se acostumbra a esta práctica siempre permanece en una posición trascendental pura, sin que las reacciones pecaminosas puedan afectarle. Śukadeva Gosvāmī llamó la atención del rey Parīkṣit sobre este hecho para que lo considerase con especial cuidado. Sin embargo, de la celebración de las ceremonias rituales védicas no se obtiene el menor beneficio. Con la práctica de esas actividades, podemos elevarnos a los sistemas planetarios superiores, pero, como se afirma en el Bhagavad-gītā (9.21): kṣīṇe puṇye martya-lokaṁ viśanti: Cuando el período de disfrute en los planetas celestiales se termina, debido a que los resultados de las actividades piadosas son limitados, tenemos que regresar a la Tierra. De nada sirve esforzarse por recorrer el universo hacia arriba y hacia abajo. Mejor cantar el santo nombre del Señor y, de este modo, purificarnos por entero y capacitarnos para ir de regreso al hogar, de vuelta a Dios. Ese es el objetivo de la vida, así como también su perfección. | |
