 | The ultimate goal of all ambitions is to become a servant of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. If an intelligent man serves the most dear Lord, who gives Himself to His devotees, how can he desire material happiness, which is available even in hell? | | | El objetivo supremo de todo deseo es llegar a ser un sirviente de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios. Un hombre inteligente dedicado al servicio del Señor, que es muy querido y que Se da a Sí mismo a Sus devotos, ¿cómo podría desear la felicidad material, que hasta en el infierno se puede conseguir? | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | An intelligent man will never aspire to become a devotee to achieve material happiness. That is the test of a devotee. As Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu teaches: | | | Un hombre inteligente no aspira a ser devoto del Señor para obtener felicidad material. Esa es la forma de reconocer a un devoto. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu enseña: | | | | | na dhanaṁ na janaṁ na sundarīṁ
kavitāṁ vā jagad-īśa kāmaye
mama janmani janmanīśvare
bhavatād bhaktir ahaitukī tvayi | | | na dhanaṁ na janaṁ na sundarīṁ
kavitāṁ vā jagad-īśa kāmaye
mama janmani janmanīśvare
bhavatād bhaktir ahaitukī tvayi | | | | | “O almighty Lord, I have no desire to accumulate wealth, nor do I desire beautiful women, nor do I want any number of followers. I only want Your causeless devotional service birth after birth.” | | | «¡Oh, Señor todopoderoso! no tengo ningún deseo de acumular riquezas, ni deseo bellas mujeres, ni quiero tener seguidor alguno. Lo único que quiero es Tu servicio devocional sin causa vida tras vida». | | | | | A pure devotee never begs the Lord for material happiness in the shape of riches, followers, a good wife or even mukti. The Lord promises, however, yoga-kṣemaṁ vahāmy aham: “I voluntarily bring everything necessary for My service.” | | | El devoto puro nunca pide al Señor felicidad material en forma de riquezas, seguidores, una buena esposa, ni siquiera mukti. El Señor, sin embargo, promete: yoga-kṣemaṁ vahāmy aham: «Yo, voluntariamente, doy todo lo necesario para Mi servicio». | | |
