 | With tears of love and affection, Citraketu repeatedly moistened the resting place of the Supreme Lord’s lotus feet. Because his voice was choked in ecstasy, for a considerable time he was unable to utter any of the letters of the alphabet to offer the Lord suitable prayers. | | | Con lágrimas de amor y afecto, Citraketu humedeció repetidas veces el lugar en que estaban posados los pies de loto del Señor Supremo. El éxtasis ahogaba su voz, de modo que, durante un tiempo considerable, le fue imposible pronunciar ni una sola letra del alfabeto para ofrecer al Señor las oraciones adecuadas. | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | All the letters of the alphabet and the words constructed by those letters are meant for offering prayers to the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Mahārāja Citraketu had the opportunity to offer prayers to the Lord by composing nice verses from the letters of the alphabet, but because of his ecstasy, for a considerable time he could not join those letters to offer prayers to the Lord. As stated in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (1.5.22): | | | Todas las letras del alfabeto, y las palabras que se construyen con ellas, existen para ofrecer oraciones a la Suprema Personalidad de Dios. Mahārāja Citraketu tenía la oportunidad de ofrecer oraciones al Señor con hermosos versos compuestos con las letras del alfabeto, pero, durante un tiempo considerable, el éxtasis le impidió unir esas letras para ofrecer oraciones al Señor. yad uttamaśloka-guṇānuvarṇanam | | | | | If one has scientific, philosophical, political, economic or any other abilities and wants perfection in his knowledge, he should offer prayers to the Supreme Personality of Godhead by composing first-class poetry or engaging his talents in the service of the Lord. Citraketu wanted to do this, but he was unable because of loving ecstasy. Therefore he had to wait for a considerable time before be could offer prayers. | | | Aquel que posea habilidades científicas, filosóficas, políticas, económicas o de cualquier otro tipo, y desee la perfección en su conocimiento, debe ofrecer oraciones a la Suprema Personalidad de Dios componiendo hermosas poesías o empleando su talento en el servicio del Señor. Esto es lo que Citraketu quería hacer, pero el éxtasis del amor se lo impedía. Por esa razón, antes de poder ofrecer oraciones tuvo que esperar un tiempo considerable. | | |
