 | Not a single living entity can remain unengaged even for a moment. One must act by his natural tendency according to the three modes of material nature because this natural tendency forcibly makes him work in a particular way. | | | Ni una sola de las entidades vivientes puede permanecer inactiva, ni siquiera por un instante. Tienen que actuar conforme a su tendencia natural y en función de las tres modalidades de la naturaleza material, pues esa tendencia natural las fuerza a actuar de determinada manera. | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | The svābhāvika, or one’s natural tendency, is the most important factor in action. One’s natural tendency is to serve because a living entity is an eternal servant of God. The living entity wants to serve, but because of his forgetfulness of his relationship with the Supreme Lord, he serves under the modes of material nature and manufactures various modes of service, such as socialism, humanitarianism and altruism. However, one should be enlightened in the tenets of Bhagavad-gītā and accept the instruction of the Supreme Personality of Godhead that one give up all natural tendencies for material service under different names and take to the service of the Lord. One’s original natural tendency is to act in Kṛṣṇa consciousness because one’s real nature is spiritual. The duty of a human being is to understand that since he is essentially spirit, he must abide by the spiritual tendency and not be carried away by material tendencies. Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura has therefore sung: | | | La tendencia natural, svābhāvika, es el factor más importante de la acción. La tendencia natural es servir, pues la entidad viviente es sirviente eterno de Dios. La entidad viviente desea servir, pero debido a que ha olvidado su relación con el Señor Supremo, sirve bajo las modalidades de la naturaleza material e inventa distintas modalidades de servicio, como el socialismo, el humanitarismo y el altruismo. Sin embargo, es necesario que nos iluminemos con los principios delBhagavad-gītā y, aceptando la instrucción de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios, abandonemos todas las tendencias naturales de servicio material que se presentan bajo diversos nombres y emprendamos el servicio del Señor. La tendencia natural de la persona es la acción consciente de Kṛṣṇa, pues la verdadera naturaleza de la entidad viviente es espiritual. El ser humano, siendo esencialmente espíritu, tiene la obligación de entender que debe regirse por la tendencia espiritual, sin dejarse arrastrar por las tendencias materiales.
