तथा मनुर्वो भगवान्पितामहो
यमेकमत्या पुरुदक्षिणैर्मखैः ।
इष्ट्वाभिपेदे दुरवापमन्यतो
भौमं सुखं दिव्यमथापवर्ग्यम् ॥२१॥

tathā manur vo bhagavān pitāmaho
yam eka-matyā puru-dakṣiṇair makhaiḥ
iṣṭvābhipede duravāpam anyato
bhaumaṁ sukhaṁ divyam athāpavargyam

TRANSLATION — TRADUCCION

Sunīti informed her son: Your grandfather Svāyambhuva Manu executed great sacrifices with distribution of charity, and thereby, with unflinching faith and devotion, he worshiped and satisfied the Supreme Personality of Godhead. By acting in that way, he achieved the greatest success in material happiness and afterwards achieved liberation, which is impossible to obtain by worshiping the demigods.

Sunīti informó a su hijo: Tu abuelo, Svāyambhuva Manu, celebró grandes sacrificios en los que repartió caridad, y de ese modo adoró y satisfizo a la Suprema Personalidad de Dios con fe y devoción inquebrantables. Actuando así, obtuvo el mayor de los éxitos en cuanto a felicidad material y en su momento logró la liberación, que no se puede obtener adorando a los semidioses.

PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO

	The success of one’s life is measured by one’s material happiness in this life and liberation in the next. Such success can be achieved only by the grace of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The words eka-matyā mean concentrating one’s mind on the Lord without deviation. This process of undeviating worship of the Supreme Lord is also expressed in Bhagavad-gītā as ananya-bhāk. “That which is impossible to obtain from any other source” is also mentioned here. “Other source” refers to worship of the demigods. It is especially stressed here that the opulence of Manu was due to his undeviating faithfulness in the transcendental service of the Lord. One who diverts his mind to worshiping many demigods to obtain material happiness is considered bereft of intelligence. If anyone wants even material happiness, he can worship the Supreme Lord without deviation, and persons who are desirous of liberation can also worship the Supreme Lord and achieve their goal of life.			El éxito en la vida de una persona se mide por su felicidad material en la vida presente y por la liberación en la futura. Ese éxito sólo se puede lograr por la gracia de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios. Las palabras eka-matyā significan «concentrar la mente en el Señor sin desviación». Ese proceso de adorar sin desviación al Señor Supremo viene expresado en el Bhagavad-gītā con las palabras ananya-bhāk. Aquí también se menciona «Lo que no se puede obtener de ninguna otra fuente». «Otra fuente» se refiere a la adoración de semidioses. En el verso se subraya de manera especial que la opulencia de Manu se debía a su fe firme en el servicio trascendental del Señor. Al que distrae su mente con la adoración de muchos semidioses para obtener felicidad material, se le considera falto de inteligencia. Aunque se desee felicidad material, se puede adorar sin desviación al Señor Supremo, y las personas deseosas de liberación también pueden adorar al Señor Supremo y alcanzar su objetivo en la vida.
