तत्ते निरीक्ष्यो न पितापि देहकृट्
ट्द्दक्षो मम द्विट्तदनुव्रताश्च ये ।
यो विश्वसृग्यज्ञगतं वरोरु मा
मनागसं दुर्वचसाकरोत्तिरः ॥२४॥
tat te nirīkṣyo na pitāpi deha-kṛd
dakṣo mama dviṭ tad-anuvratāś ca ye
yo viśvasṛg-yajña-gataṁ varoru mām
anāgasaṁ durvacasākarot tiraḥ

 | Therefore you should not see your father, although he is the giver of your body, because he and his followers are envious of me. Because of his envy, O most worshipful one, he has insulted me with cruel words although I am innocent. | | | Por lo tanto, no debes ir a ver a tu padre, aunque sea quien te dio el cuerpo, pues él y sus seguidores tienen envidia de mí. Por envidia, ¡oh, muy adorable Satī!, me ha insultado con palabras crueles a pesar de que soy inocente. | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | For a woman, both the husband and the father are equally worshipable. The husband is the protector of a woman during her youthful life, whereas the father is her protector during her childhood. Thus both are worshipable, but especially the father because he is the giver of the body. Lord Śiva reminded Satī, “Your father is undoubtedly worshipable, even more than I am, but take care, for although he is the giver of your body he may also be the taker of your body, because when you see your father he may insult you because of your association with me. An insult from a relative is worse than death, especially when one is well situated.” | | | Para una mujer, el esposo y el padre son igualmente dignos de adoración. El esposo la protege en la juventud, mientras que el padre la protege durante la infancia. De modo que los dos son dignos de adoración, pero el padre lo es de un modo especial, porque es quien le ha dado el cuerpo. El Señor Śiva le recordó a Satī: «Tu padre es, sin lugar a dudas, digno de tu adoración incluso más que yo; pero ten cuidado; aunque él te ha dado el cuerpo, también puede ser él quien te lo quite, pues cuando le veas, debido a la relación que te une conmigo, podría insultarte.
