तथाहयो दन्दशूकाः सर्पा नागाश्च तक्षकम् ।
विधाय वत्सं दुदुहुर्बिलपात्रे विषं पयः ॥२२॥
tathāhayo dandaśūkāḥ
sarpā nāgāś ca takṣakam
vidhāya vatsaṁ duduhur
bila-pātre viṣaṁ payaḥ

 | Thereafter cobras and snakes without hoods, large snakes, scorpions and many other poisonous animals took poison out of the planet earth as their milk and kept this poison in snake holes. They made a calf out of Takṣaka. | | | A continuación, las cobras y serpientes sin capucha, las grandes serpientes, los escorpiones y muchos otros animales venenosos ordeñaron a la Tierra y como leche obtuvieron veneno, y lo conservaron en las guaridas de las serpientes. PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | Within this material world there are various types of living entities, and the different types of reptiles and scorpions mentioned in this verse are also provided with their sustenance by the arrangement of the Supreme Personality of Godhead. The point is that everyone is taking his eatables from the planet earth. According to one’s association with the material qualities, one develops a certain type of character. Payaḥ-pānaṁ bhujaṅgānām: if one feeds a serpent milk, the snake will simply increase his venom. However, if one supplies milk to a talented sage or saint, the sage will develop finer brain tissues by which he can contemplate higher, spiritual life. Thus the Lord is supplying everyone food, but according to the living entity’s association with the modes of material nature, the living entity develops his specific character. | | | En el mundo material hay muchas clases de entidades vivientes, y las disposiciones de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios también proveen de sustento a los distintos tipos de reptiles y escorpiones que se mencionan en este verso; es decir, todos recogen su alimento del planeta Tierra. La relación con las cualidades materiales determina la formación de un cierto tipo de personalidad. Payaḥ-pānaṁ bhujaṅgānām: Alimentar a una serpiente con leche solo sirve para aumentar su veneno. Sin embargo, en un sabio ilustre o en una personalidad santa, la leche producirá unos tejidos cerebrales más finos, que permitirán al sabio la contemplación de la vida superior, la vida espiritual.
