वेनस्यावेक्ष्य मुनयो दुर्वृत्तस्य विचेष्टितम् ।
विमृश्य लोकव्यसनं कृपयोचुः स्म सत्रिणः ॥७॥
venasyāvekṣya munayo
durvṛttasya viceṣṭitam
vimṛśya loka-vyasanaṁ
kṛpayocuḥ sma satriṇaḥ

 | Therefore all the great sages assembled together and, after observing cruel Vena’s atrocities, concluded that a great danger and catastrophe was approaching the people of the world. Thus out of compassion they began to talk amongst themselves, for they themselves were the performers of the sacrifices. | | | Debido a ello, todos los grandes sabios se reunieron, y después de observar las atrocidades del cruel Vena, llegaron a la conclusión de que un gran peligro y una gran catástrofe se cernían sobre la población del mundo. PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | Before King Vena was enthroned, all the great sages were very much anxious to see to the welfare of society. When they saw that King Vena was most irresponsible, cruel and atrocious, they again began to think of the welfare of the people. It should be understood that sages, saintly persons and devotees are not unconcerned with the people’s welfare. Ordinary karmīs are busy acquiring money for sense gratification, and ordinary jñānīs are socially aloof when they speculate on liberation, but actual devotees and saintly persons are always anxious to see how the people can be made happy both materially and spiritually. Therefore the great sages began to consult one another on how to get out of the dangerous atmosphere created by King Vena. | | | Antes de la coronación del rey Vena, todos los grandes sabios sentían una gran preocupación por el bienestar de la sociedad. Cuando vieron que el rey Vena era muy irresponsable, cruel y atroz, de nuevo empezaron a pensar en el bienestar de la gente. Se debe entender que los sabios, las personas santas y los devotos no se despreocupan del bienestar de la gente. Los karmīs corrientes están ocupados en ganar dinero para complacer los sentidos, y los jñānīs corrientes se apartan de la sociedad cuando especulan acerca de la liberación, pero los verdaderos devotos y personas santas siempre están ansiosos por encontrar la manera de hacer que la gente sea feliz, tanto en lo material como en lo espiritual.
