3.6.1	The Ṛṣi Maitreya said: The Lord thus heard about the suspension of the progressive creative functions of the universe due to the noncombination of His potencies, such as the mahat-tattva.	El ṛṣi Maitreya dijo: El Señor oyó así cómo las progresivas funciones creativas del universo se encontraban suspendidas a causa de la no combinación de Sus potencias, tales como el mahat-tattva.

3.6.2	The Supreme Powerful Lord then simultaneously entered into the twenty-three elements with the goddess Kālī, His external energy, who alone amalgamates all the different elements.	El Supremo y Poderoso Señor entró entonces simultáneamente en los veintitrés elementos, con la diosa Kālī, Su energía externa, que es la única que amalgama todos los diferentes elementos.

3.6.3	Thus when the Personality of Godhead entered into the elements by His energy, all the living entities were enlivened into different activities, just as one is engaged in his work after awakening from sleep.	Así pues, cuando la Personalidad de Dios entró en los elementos mediante Su energía, todas las entidades vivientes fueron animadas para la ejecución de diferentes actividades, de la misma manera en que uno se dedica a su trabajo después de que se despierta.

3.6.4	When the twenty-three principal elements were set in action by the will of the Supreme, the gigantic universal form, or the viśvarūpa body of the Lord, came into existence.	Cuando los veintitrés elementos principales fueron puestos en acción por la voluntad del Supremo, comenzó a existir la gigantesca forma universal, el cuerpo viśva-rūpa del Señor.

3.6.5	As the Lord, in His plenary portion, entered into the elements of the universal creation, they transformed into the gigantic form in which all the planetary systems and all movable and immovable creations rest.	A medida que el Señor, en Su porción plenaria, entró en los elementos de la creación universal, éstos se transformaron en la gigantesca forma en la que reposan todos los sistemas planetarios y todas las creaciones móviles e inmóviles.

3.6.6	The gigantic virāṭ-puruṣa, known as Hiraṇmaya, lived for one thousand celestial years on the water of the universe, and all the living entities lay with Him.	El gigantesco virāṭ-puruṣa, conocido como Hiraṇmaya, vivió por mil años celestiales sobre el agua del universo, y todas las entidades vivientes yacían con Él.

3.6.7	The total energy of the mahat-tattva, in the form of the gigantic virāṭ-rūpa, divided Himself by Himself into the consciousness of the living entities, the life of activity, and self-identification, which are subdivided into one, ten and three respectively.	El mahat-tattva, la energía total, en la forma del gigantesco virāṭ-rūpa, Se dividió por Sí solo, convirtiéndose en la conciencia de las entidades vivientes, en la vida de la actividad, y en la identificación del ser, las cuales se subdividen en uno, diez y tres, respectivamente.

3.6.8	The gigantic universal form of the Supreme Lord is the first incarnation and plenary portion of the Supersoul. He is the Self of an unlimited number of living entities, and in Him rests the aggregate creation, which thus flourishes.	La gigantesca forma universal del Señor Supremo es la primera encarnación y porción plenaria de la Superalma. Es el Yo de un ilimitado número de entidades vivientes, y el lugar de reposo de la creación agregada, que en esa forma florece.

3.6.9	The gigantic universal form is represented by three, ten and one in the sense that He is the body and the mind and the senses, He is the dynamic force for all movements by ten kinds of life energy, and He is the one heart where life energy is generated.	La gigantesca forma universal está representada por tres, diez y uno, en el sentido de que es el cuerpo, la mente y los sentidos, es la fuerza dinámica de todos los movimientos realizados por diez clases de energía vital, y es el corazón único en el que la energía vital se genera.

3.6.10	The Supreme Lord is the Supersoul of all the demigods entrusted with the task of constructing the cosmic manifestation. Being thus prayed to [by the demigods], He thought to Himself and thus manifested the gigantic form for their understanding.	El Señor Supremo es la Superalma de todos los semidioses encargados de la tarea de construir la manifestación cósmica. Habiéndole orado [los semidioses] de esa manera, pensó para Sí, y manifestó entonces la gigantesca forma para que ellos entendieran.

3.6.11	Maitreya said: You may now hear from me how the Supreme Lord separated Himself into the diverse forms of the demigods after the manifestation of the gigantic universal form.	Maitreya dijo: Ahora puedes oír mi explicación de cómo el Señor Supremo Se dividió a Sí mismo después de la manifestación de la gigantesca forma universal, convirtiéndose en las diversas formas de los semidioses.

3.6.12	Agni, or heat, separated from His mouth, and all the directors of material affairs entered into it in their respective positions. By that energy the living entity expresses himself in words.	Agni, el calor, se separó de Su boca, y todos los directores de los asuntos materiales entraron en ella en sus respectivas posiciones. Mediante esa energía, la entidad viviente se expresa con palabras.

3.6.13	When the palate of the gigantic form was separately manifested, Varuṇa, the director of water in the planetary systems, entered therein, and thus the living entity has the facility to taste everything with his tongue.	Cuando el paladar de la gigantesca forma se manifestó separadamente, Varuṇa, el director del aire en los sistemas planetarios, entró allí, y por eso la entidad viviente tiene la facilidad de saborear todo con su lengua.

3.6.14	When the Lord’s two nostrils separately manifested themselves, the dual Aśvinī-kumāras entered them in their proper positions, and because of this the living entities can smell the aromas of everything.	Cuando los dos orificios nasales del Señor se manifestaron separadamente, los gemelos Aśvinī-Kumāras entraron en sus posiciones apropiadas, y debido a eso las entidades vivientes pueden oler el aroma de todas las cosas.

3.6.15	Thereafter, the two eyes of the gigantic form of the Lord were separately manifested. The sun, the director of light, entered them with the partial representation of eyesight, and thus the living entities can have vision of forms.	Después, los dos ojos de la gigantesca forma del Señor se manifestaron separadamente. El Sol, el director de la luz, entró en ellos con la representación parcial de la visión, y por eso las entidades vivientes pueden tener visión de las formas.

3.6.16	When there was a manifestation of skin separated from the gigantic form, Anila, the deity directing the wind, entered with partial touch, and thus the living entities can realize tactile knowledge.	Cuando apareció una manifestación de piel, separada de la forma gigantesca, Anila, la deidad que dirige el viento, entró con el tacto parcial, y por ello las entidades vivientes pueden adquirir conocimiento táctil.

3.6.17	When the ears of the gigantic form became manifested, all the controlling deities of the directions entered into them with the hearing principles, by which all the living entities hear and take advantage of sound.	Cuando los oídos de la gigantesca forma se manifestaron, todas las deidades controladoras de las direcciones entraron en ellos con los principios de la audición, mediante los cuales todas las entidades vivientes oyen y sacan provecho del sonido.

3.6.18	When there was a separate manifestation of skin, the controlling deities of sensations and their different parts entered into it, and thus the living entities feel itching and happiness due to touch.	Cuando apareció una manifestación separada de piel, las deidades controladoras de las sensaciones y sus diferentes partes entraron en ella, y por ello las entidades vivientes sienten comezón y felicidad debido al tacto.

3.6.19	When the genitals of the gigantic form separately became manifest, then Prajāpati, the original living creature, entered into them with his partial semen, and thus the living entities can enjoy sex pleasure.	Cuando el órgano genital de la gigantesca forma se manifestó separadamente, Prajāpati, la criatura viviente original, entró entonces en él con su semen parcial, y por ello las entidades vivientes pueden disfrutar del placer sexual.

3.6.20	The evacuating channel separately became manifest, and the director named Mitra entered into it with partial organs of evacuation. Thus the living entities are able to pass stool and urine.	El canal evacuador se manifestó separadamente, y el director, llamado Mitra, entró en él con órganos parciales de evacuación. Por ello las entidades vivientes pueden evacuar y orinar.

3.6.21	Thereafter, when the hands of the gigantic form separately became manifested, Indra, the ruler of the heavenly planets, entered into them, and thus the living entity is able to transact business for his livelihood.	Después, cuando las manos de la gigantesca forma se manifestaron separadamente, Indra, el gobernador de los planetas celestiales, entró en ellas, y por ello la entidad viviente puede hacer negocios para su manutención.

3.6.22	Thereafter the legs of the gigantic form separately became manifest, and the demigod named Viṣṇu [not the Personality of Godhead] entered with partial movement. This helps the living entity move to his destination.	Después, las piernas de la gigantesca forma se manifestaron separadamente, y el semidiós llamado Viṣṇu [no la Personalidad de Dios] entró con movimiento parcial. Esto ayuda a que la entidad viviente se mueva hacia su destino.

3.6.23	When the intelligence of the gigantic form separately became manifest, Brahmā, the lord of the Vedas, entered into it with the partial power of understanding, and thus an object of understanding is experienced by the living entities.	Cuando la inteligencia de la gigantesca forma se manifestó separadamente, Brahmā, el señor de los Vedas, entró en ella con la capacidad parcial de entendimiento, y por ello las entidades vivientes experimentan un objeto de entendimiento.

3.6.24	After that, the heart of the gigantic form separately manifested itself, and into it entered the moon demigod with partial mental activity. Thus the living entity can conduct his mental speculations.	Después de eso, el corazón de la gigantesca forma se manifestó separadamente, y el semidiós de la Luna entró en él con una actividad mental parcial. Por ello la entidad viviente puede dirigir sus especulaciones mentales.

3.6.25	Thereafter the materialistic ego of the gigantic form separately manifested itself, and into it entered Rudra, the controller of false ego, with his own partial activities, by which the living entity transacts his objective actions.	Después, el ego materialista de la gigantesca forma se manifestó separadamente, y en él entró Rudra, el controlador del ego falso, con sus propias actividades parciales, mediante las cuales la entidad viviente lleva a cabo sus acciones objetivas.

3.6.26	Thereafter, when His consciousness separately manifested itself, the total energy, mahat-tattva, entered with His conscious part. Thus the living entity is able to conceive specific knowledge.	Después, cuando Su conciencia se manifestó separadamente, la energía total, mahat-tattva, entró con Su parte consciente. Por ello la entidad viviente es capaz de concebir conocimiento específico.

3.6.27	Thereafter, from the head of the gigantic form, the heavenly planets were manifested, and from His legs the earthly planets and from His abdomen the sky separately manifested themselves. Within them the demigods and others also were manifested in terms of the modes of material nature.	Después, de la cabeza de la gigantesca forma, se manifestaron los planetas celestiales, y de Sus piernas y de Su abdomen se manifestaron separadamente los planetas terrenales y el cielo, respectivamente. Dentro de ellos, los semidioses y otros seres también se manifestaron en términos de las modalidades de la naturaleza material.

3.6.28	The demigods, qualified by the superexcellent quality of the mode of goodness, are situated in the heavenly planets, whereas the human beings, because of their nature in the mode of passion, live on the earth in company with their subordinates.	Los semidioses, capacitados con la supremamente excelente cualidad de la modalidad de la bondad, están situados en los planetas celestiales, mientras que los seres humanos, por su naturaleza comprendida en la modalidad de la pasión, viven en la Tierra en compañía de sus subordinados.

3.6.29	Living entities who are associates of Rudra develop in the third mode of material nature, or ignorance. They are situated in the sky between the earthly planets and the heavenly planets.	Las entidades vivientes que acompañan a Rudra se desarrollan en la tercera modalidad de la naturaleza material, la ignorancia. Están situados en el cielo que está entre los planetas terrenales y los planetas celestiales.

3.6.30	O chief of the Kuru dynasty, the Vedic wisdom became manifested from the mouth of the virāṭ, the gigantic form. Those who are inclined to this Vedic knowledge are called brāhmaṇas, and they are the natural teachers and spiritual masters of all the orders of society.	¡Oh, tú, el principal de la dinastía Kuru! La sabiduría védica se manifestó de la boca del virāṭ, la forma gigantesca. Aquellos que tienen inclinación por ese conocimiento védico se denominan brāhmaṇas, y son los maestros espirituales y profesores naturales de todas las órdenes de la sociedad.

3.6.31	Thereafter the power of protection was generated from the arms of the gigantic virāṭ form, and in relation to such power the kṣatriyas also came into existence by following the kṣatriya principle of protecting society from the disturbance of thieves and miscreants.	Después, la capacidad de protección se generó de los brazos de la gigantesca forma virāṭ, y, en relación con esa capacidad, los kṣatriyas también comenzaron a existir mediante la prosecución del principio kṣatriya de proteger a la sociedad de la perturbación causada por ladrones y malvados.

3.6.32	The means of livelihood of all persons, namely production of grains and their distribution to the prajās, was generated from the thighs of the Lord’s gigantic form. The mercantile men who take charge of such execution are called vaiśyas.	Los medios de manutención de todas las personas, es decir, la producción de granos y su distribución a los prajās, se generaron de los muslos de la gigantesca forma del Señor. Los comerciantes que se ocupan de la ejecución de eso se denominan vaiśyas.

3.6.33	Thereafter, service was manifested from the legs of the Personality of Godhead for the sake of perfecting the religious function. Situated on the legs are the śūdras, who satisfy the Lord by service.	Después, el servicio se manifestó de las piernas de la Personalidad de Dios, para perfeccionar la función religiosa. Situados en las piernas están los śūdras, que satisfacen al Señor mediante el servicio.

3.6.34	All these different social divisions are born, with their occupational duties and living conditions, from the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Thus for unconditional life and self-realization one has to worship the Supreme Lord under the direction of the spiritual master.	Todas estas diferentes divisiones sociales nacen de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios, juntamente con sus diferentes ocupaciones obligatorias y condiciones de vida. Así pues, para una vida no condicional y para la iluminación espiritual, uno tiene que adorar al Señor Supremo bajo la dirección del maestro espiritual.

3.6.35	O Vidura, who can estimate or measure the transcendental time, work and potency of the gigantic form manifested by the internal potency of the Supreme Personality of Godhead?	¡Oh, Vidura! ¿Quién puede estimar o medir el tiempo, el trabajo y la potencia trascendental de la gigantesca forma manifestada por la potencia interna de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios?

3.6.36	In spite of my inability, whatever I have been able to hear [from the spiritual master] and whatever I could assimilate I am now describing in glorification of the Lord by pure speech, for otherwise my power of speaking would remain unchaste.	A pesar de mi incapacidad, todo lo que he podido oír [de labios de mi maestro espiritual], y todo lo que pude asimilar, lo estoy describiendo ahora para glorificación del Señor mediante el habla pura, pues de lo contrario, mi capacidad de hablar permanecería impúdica.

3.6.37	The highest perfectional gain of humanity is to engage in discussions of the activities and glories of the Pious Actor. Such activities are so nicely arranged in writing by the greatly learned sages that the actual purpose of the ear is served just by being near them.	El beneficio más elevado y perfecto que existe para la humanidad consiste en ocuparse en conversaciones acerca de las actividades y glorias del Actor Piadoso. Dichas actividades están tan hermosamente dispuestas en forma escrita por los grandes sabios eruditos, que el verdadero propósito del oído se cumple tan sólo con estar cerca de ellas.

3.6.38	O my son, the original poet, Brahmā, after mature meditation for one thousand celestial years, could know only that the glories of the Supreme Soul are inconceivable.	¡Oh, hijo mío! El poeta original, Brahmā, después de una madura meditación durante mil años celestiales, únicamente pudo saber que las glorias del Alma Suprema son inconcebibles.

3.6.39	The wonderful potency of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is bewildering even to the jugglers. That potency is unknown even to the self-sufficient Lord, so it is certainly unknown to others.	La maravillosa potencia de la Suprema Personalidad de Dios es desconcertante incluso para los malabaristas. Ese poder potencial es desconocido incluso para el Señor, que goza de autosuficiencia, así que es indudablemente desconocido para los demás.

3.6.40	Words, mind and ego, with their respective controlling demigods, have failed to achieve success in knowing the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Therefore, we simply have to offer our respectful obeisances unto Him as a matter of sanity.	Las palabras, la mente y el ego, con sus respectivos semidioses controladores, no han podido lograr el éxito en lo que se refiere a conocer a la Suprema Personalidad de Dios. Por lo tanto, nosotros simplemente tenemos que ofrecerle nuestras respetuosas reverencias, como una cuestión de cordura.
