विदुर उवाच
प्रजापतिपतिः सृष्ट्वा प्रजासर्गे प्रजापतीन्
किमारभत मे ब्रह्मन्प्रब्रूह्यव्यक्तमार्गवित्
vidura uvāca
prajāpati-patiḥ sṛṣṭvā
prajā-sarge prajāpatīn
kim ārabhata me brahman
prabrūhy avyakta-mārga-vit

 | Vidura said: Since you know of matters inconceivable to us, tell me, O holy sage, what did Brahmā do to create living beings after evolving the Prajāpatis, the progenitors of living beings? | | | Vidura dijo: Puesto que tú posees conocimiento acerca de temas que nosotros no podemos ni concebir, dime, ¡oh, sabio santo!, ¿qué hizo Brahmā para crear seres vivientes después de producir a los prajāpatis, los progenitores de los seres vivos? | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | Significant here is the word avyakta-mārga-vit, “one who knows that which is beyond our perception.” To know matters beyond one’s perception, one has to learn from a superior authority in the line of disciplic succession. Just to know who is our father is beyond our perception. For that, the mother is the authority. Similarly, we have to understand everything beyond our perception from the authority who actually knows. The first avyakta-mārga-vit, or authority, is Brahmā, and the next authority in disciplic succession is Nārada. Maitreya Ṛṣi belongs to that disciplic succession, so he also is avyakta-mārga-vit. Anyone in the bona fide line of disciplic succession is avyakta-mārga-vit, a personality who knows that which is beyond ordinary perception. | | | Aquí es significativa la palabra avyakta-mārga-vit, «aquel que conoce lo que está más allá de nuestra percepción». Para poder poseer conocimiento acerca de temas más allá de nuestra percepción, debemos aprenderlos de una autoridad superior en la línea de sucesión discipular. Algo tan sencillo como saber quién es nuestro padre escapa a nuestra percepción. Para eso la autoridad es la madre. De la misma manera, todo lo que está más allá de nuestra percepción debemos entenderlo por medio de la autoridad que verdaderamente sabe. El primer avyakta-mārga-vit, la primera autoridad, es Brahmā, y la siguiente autoridad en la sucesión discipular es Nārada. Maitreya Ṛṣi pertenece a esa sucesión discipular, de modo que también él es avyakta-mārga-vit. Cualquiera que esté en la línea de sucesión discipular genuina es avyakta-mārga-vit, una persona que conoce lo que está fuera del alcance de la percepción común. | | |
