भगवांस्तु गदावेगं विसृष्टं रिपुणोरसि
अवञ्चयत्तिरश्चीनो योगारूढ इवान्तकम्
bhagavāṁs tu gadā-vegaṁ
visṛṣṭaṁ ripuṇorasi
avañcayat tiraścīno
yogārūḍha ivāntakam

 | The Lord, however, by moving slightly aside, dodged the violent mace-blow aimed at His breast by the enemy, just as an accomplished yogī would elude death. | | | El Señor, sin embargo, retirándose ligeramente a un lado, esquivó el violento mazazo que el enemigo había dirigido contra Su pecho, tal como un yogī consumado eludiría la muerte. | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | The example is given herein that the perfect yogī can overcome a deathblow although it is offered by the laws of nature. It is useless for a demon to beat the transcendental body of the Lord with a powerful mace, for no one can surpass His prowess. Those who are advanced transcendentalists are freed from the laws of nature, and even a deathblow cannot act on them. Superficially it may be seen that a yogī is attacked by a deathblow, but by the grace of the Lord he can overcome many such attacks for the service of the Lord. As the Lord exists by His own independent prowess, by the grace of the Lord the devotees also exist for His service. | | | Se da aquí el ejemplo de que el yogī perfecto puede superar un golpe mortal aunque sean las leyes de la naturaleza las que lo ofrezcan. Para un demonio, golpear el cuerpo trascendental del Señor con una poderosa maza es inútil, pues nadie puede superar Su destreza. Los que son trascendentalistas avanzados están libres de las leyes de la naturaleza, y ni siquiera un ataque de la muerte puede afectarles. Superficialmente, puede parecer que la muerte asesta* un golpe mortal a un yogī, pero, por la gracia del Señor, puede superar muchos ataques de este tipo por servicio al Señor. Tal como el Señor existe en virtud de Su propia destreza independiente, por la gracia del Señor también los devotos existen por Su servicio. | | |
