य एवमेतां हरिमेधसो हरेः कथां सुभद्रां कथनीयमायिनः
शृण्वीत भक्त्या श्रवयेत वोशतीं जनार्दनोऽस्याशु हृदि प्रसीदति
ya evam etāṁ hari-medhaso hareḥ
kathāṁ subhadrāṁ kathanīya-māyinaḥ
śṛṇvīta bhaktyā śravayeta vośatīṁ
janārdano ’syāśu hṛdi prasīdati

PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | In His various incarnations, the Lord appears, acts and leaves behind Him a narrative history which is as transcendental as He Himself. Every one of us is fond of hearing some wonderful narration, but most stories are neither auspicious nor worth hearing because they are of the inferior quality of material nature. Every living entity is of superior quality, spirit soul, and nothing material can be auspicious for him. Intelligent persons should therefore hear personally and cause others to hear the descriptive narrations of the Lord’s activities, for that will destroy the pangs of material existence. Out of His causeless mercy only, the Lord comes to this earth and leaves behind His merciful activities so that the devotees may derive transcendental benefit. | | | En Sus diversas encarnaciones, el Señor aparece, actúa y deja tras de Sí una historia narrativa que es tan trascendental como Él mismo. Todos solemos disfrutar escuchando una narración maravillosa, pero la mayor parte de esas narraciones no son auspiciosas ni dignas de oírse, porque comparten la calidad inferior de la naturaleza material. Toda entidad viviente es de calidad superior, alma espiritual, y nada material puede ser auspicioso para ella. En consecuencia, las personas inteligentes deben personalmente ocuparse de escuchar, y hacer que los demás escuchen, las narraciones que describen las actividades del Señor, pues esto acabará con los sufrimientos de la existencia material. El Señor, exclusivamente movido por Su misericordia sin causa, viene a esta Tierra y deja tras de Sí Sus misericordiosas acciones, de manera que los devotos puedan obtener un beneficio trascendental. | | |
