त्वक्चर्ममांसरुधिर मेदोमज्जास्थिधातवः
भूम्यप्तेजोमयाः सप्त प्राणो व्योमाम्बुवायुभिः
tvak-carma-māṁsa-rudhira-
medo-majjāsthi-dhātavaḥ
bhūmy-ap-tejomayāḥ sapta
prāṇo vyomāmbu-vāyubhiḥ

 | The seven elements of the body, namely the thin layer on the skin, the skin itself, the flesh, blood, fat, marrow and bone, are all made of earth, water and fire, whereas the life breath is produced by the sky, water and air. | | | Los siete elementos del cuerpo, a saber, la fina capa que se encuentra sobre la piel, la propia piel, la carne, la sangre, la grasa, la médula y el hueso, están todos hechos de tierra, agua y fuego, mientras que el aliento vital es producido por el cielo el agua y el aire. | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | The construction of the whole material world is prominently made by three elements, namely earth, water and fire. But the living force is produced by sky, air and water. So water is the common element in both the gross and subtle forms of all material creation, and it should be noted herewith that due to necessity, water, being most prominent in the material creation, is the principal element of all the five. This material body is thus an embodiment of the five elements, and the gross manifestation is perceived because of three, namely earth, water, and fire. Sensations of touch are perceived due to the thin layer on the skin, and bone is as good as hard stone. The breathing air of life is produced of sky, air and water, and therefore open air, regular bath and ample space in which to live are favorable for healthy vitality. Fresh produce from the earth like grains and vegetables, as well as fresh water and heat, is good for the upkeep of the gross body. | | | La estructura de todo este mundo material se encuentra predominantemente hecha de tres elementos, a saber, tierra, agua y fuego. Pero la fuerza viviente es producida por el cielo, el aire y el agua. Así que el agua es el elemento común de todas las formas toscas y sutiles de toda la creación material, y debe notarse aquí que debido a la necesidad, el agua, siendo de lo más resaltante en la creación material, es el principal elemento de todos los cinco. Este cuerpo material es por ello un conglomerado de los cinco elementos, y la manifestación tosca se percibe debido a tres de ellos, a saber, tierra, agua y fuego. Las sensaciones del tacto se perciben debido a la fina capa que se encuentra sobre la piel, y el hueso es semejante a la dura piedra. El aire que se respira en la vida produce el cielo, aire y agua, por consiguiente, el aire libre, el baño regular y un espacio amplio donde vivir, son favorables para la sana vitalidad. Los productos agrícolas frescos, como los granos y las verduras, así como el agua fresca y el calor, son buenos para el mantenimiento del cuerpo tosco. | | |
