jāta-śraddhas tu yaḥ pumān
na nirviṇṇo nāti-sakto
bhakti-yogo ’sya siddhi-daḥ

 | If somehow or other by good fortune one develops faith in hearing and chanting My glories, such a person, being neither disgusted with nor very much attached to material life, should achieve perfection through the path of loving devotion to Me. | | | Si de una u otra manera por buena fortuna uno desarrolla fe en escuchar y cantar Mis glorias, esa persona, al no estar ni disgustada ni muy apegada a la vida material, debería alcanzar la perfección a través del sendero de la devoción amorosa hacia Mí. | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | If somehow or other one gets the association of pure devotees of the Lord and hears from them the transcendental message of Lord Kṛṣṇa, then one has the chance to become a devotee of the Lord. As mentioned in the previous verse, those who become disgusted with material life take to impersonal philosophical speculation and rigorously try to stamp out any trace of personal existence. Those who are still attached to material sense gratification try to purify themselves by offering the fruits of their ordinary activities to the Supreme. A first-class candidate for pure devotional service, on the other hand, is neither completely disgusted with nor attached to material life. He does not desire to pursue ordinary material existence any further, because it cannot award real happiness. Nevertheless, a candidate for devotional service does not give up all hope for perfecting personal existence. A person who avoids the two extremes of material attachment and impersonal reaction to material attachment and who somehow or other gets the association of pure devotees, faithfully hearing their message, is a good candidate for going back home, back to Godhead, as described here by the Lord. | | | Si de una u otra manera uno consigue la compañía de devotos puros del Señor y escucha de ellos el mensaje trascendental del Señor Kṛṣṇa, entonces tiene la oportunidad de volverse devoto del Señor. Como se mencionó en el verso anterior, aquellos que se disgustan con la vida material se entregan a la especulación filosófica impersonal y rigurosamente tratan de eliminar todo rastro de existencia personal. Quienes todavía están apegados a la complacencia material de los sentidos tratan de purificarse ofreciendo los frutos de sus actividades ordinarias al Supremo. Por otra parte, un candidato de primera clase para el servicio devocional puro no está completamente disgustado con la vida material ni apegado a ella. No desea seguir buscando la existencia material ordinaria, porque ésta no puede otorgar verdadera felicidad. Sin embargo, un candidato para el servicio devocional no abandona toda la esperanza de perfeccionar la existencia personal. Una persona que evita los dos extremos del apego material y la reacción impersonal al apego material y que de una u otra manera consigue la compañía de devotos puros, escuchando fielmente su mensaje, es un buen candidato para ir de regreso al hogar, de vuelta a Dios, así como aquí lo describe el Señor. | | |
