10.83.1	Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: Thus Lord Kṛṣṇa, the spiritual master of the gopīs and the very purpose of their life, showed them His mercy. He then met with Yudhiṣṭhira and all His other relatives and inquired from them about their welfare.	Śukadeva Gosvāmī dijo: Así pues, el Señor Kṛṣṇa, el maestro espiritual de las gopīs y el verdadero propósito de su vida, les mostró Su misericordia. Después se reunió con Yudhiṣṭhira y todos Sus demás parientes y les preguntó acerca de su bienestar.

10.83.2	Feeling greatly honored, King Yudhiṣṭhira and the others, freed of all sinful reactions by seeing the feet of the Lord of the universe, gladly answered His inquiries.	El rey Yudhiṣṭhira y los demás, liberados de todas las reacciones pecaminosas al ver los pies del Señor del universo y sintiéndose muy honrados, respondieron con alegría Sus preguntas.

10.83.3	[Lord Kṛṣṇa’s relatives said:] O master, how can misfortune arise for those who have even once freely drunk the nectar coming from Your lotus feet? This intoxicating liquor pours into the drinking cups of their ears, having flowed from the minds of great devotees through their mouths. It destroys the embodied souls’ forgetfulness of the creator of their bodily existence.	[Los parientes del Señor Kṛṣṇa dijeron:] ¡Oh, amo! ¿Cómo puede surgir la desgracia para aquellos que han bebido libremente aunque sea una vez el néctar que proviene de Tus pies de loto? Este licor embriagante que destruye el olvido que las almas encarnadas tienen del creador de su existencia corporal, se vierte en las copas de sus oídos, fluyendo desde la mente de los grandes devotos a través de sus bocas.

10.83.4	The radiance of Your personal form dispels the threefold effects of material consciousness, and by Your grace we become immersed in total happiness. Your knowledge is indivisible and unrestricted. By Your Yoga-māyā potency You have assumed this human form for protecting the Vedas, which had been threatened by time. We bow down to You, the final destination of perfect saints.	El resplandor de Tu forma personal disipa los tres efectos de la conciencia material, por Tu gracia nos sumergimos en la felicidad total. Tu conocimiento es indivisible y sin restricciones. Por Tu potencia Yoga-māyā asumiste esta forma humana para proteger los Vedas, que fueron amenazados por el tiempo. Nos postramos ante Ti, el destino final de los santos perfectos.

10.83.5	The great sage Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: As Yudhiṣṭhira and the others were thus praising Lord Kṛṣṇa, the crest jewel of all sublimely glorified personalities, the women of the Andhaka and Kaurava clans met with one another and began discussing topics about Govinda that are sung throughout the three worlds. Please listen as I relate these to you.	El gran sabio Śukadeva Gosvāmī dijo: Mientras Yudhiṣṭhira y los demás alababan al Señor Kṛṣṇa, la joya cumbre de todas las personalidades sublimemente glorificadas, las mujeres de los clanes Andhaka y Kaurava se reunieron y comenzaron a hablar de temas que se cantan en los tres mundos acerca de Govinda. 10.83.6-7	Śrī Draupadī said: O Vaidarbhī, Bhadrā and Jāmbavatī, O Kauśalā, Satyabhāmā and Kālindī, O Śaibyā, Rohiṇī, Lakṣmaṇā and other wives of Lord Kṛṣṇa, please tell me how the Supreme Lord Acyuta, imitating the ways of this world by His mystic power, came to marry each of you.	Śrī Draupadī dijo: ¡Oh, Vaidarbhī, Bhadrā y Jāmbavatī! ¡oh, Kauśalā, Satyabhāmā y Kālindī! ¡oh, Śaibyā, Rohiṇī, Lakṣmaṇā y otras esposas del Señor Kṛṣṇa!, por favor, díganme cómo, imitando las costumbres de este mundo mediante Su poder místico, el Supremo Señor Acyuta, llegó a casarse con cada una de ustedes.

10.83.8	Śrī Rukmiṇī said: When all the kings held their bows at the ready to assure that I would be presented to Śiśupāla, He who puts the dust of His feet on the heads of invincible warriors took me from their midst, as a lion forcibly takes his prey from the midst of goats and sheep. May I always be allowed to worship those feet of Lord Kṛṣṇa, the abode of Goddess Śrī.	Śrī Rukmiṇī dijo: Cuando todos los reyes tenían sus arcos listos para asegurar que yo sería presentada ante Śiśupāla, Aquel que pone el polvo de Sus pies sobre las cabezas de guerreros invencibles, me sacó de entre en medio de ellos, como un león toma por la fuerza su presa de en medio de cabras y ovejas. ¡Que siempre se me permita adorar estos pies del Señor Kṛṣṇa, la morada de la Diosa Śrī!

10.83.9	Śrī Satyabhāmā said: My father, his heart tormented by his brother’s death, accused Kṛṣṇa of killing him. To remove the stain on His reputation, the Lord defeated the king of the bears and took back the Syamantaka jewel, which He then returned to my father. Fearing the consequences of his offense, my father offered me to the Lord, even though I had already been promised to others.	Śrī Satyabhāmā dijo: Mi padre, con el corazón atormentado por la muerte de su hermano, acusó a Kṛṣṇa de haberlo matado. Para quitar la mancha de Su reputación, el Señor derrotó al rey de los osos y recuperó la joya Syamantaka, que luego le devolvió a mi padre. Temiendo las consecuencias de su ofensa, mi padre me ofreció al Señor, a pesar de que ya me había prometido a otros.

10.83.10	Śrī Jāmbavatī said: Unaware that Lord Kṛṣṇa was none other than his own master and worshipable Deity, the husband of Goddess Sītā, my father fought with Him for twenty-seven days. When my father finally came to his senses and recognized the Lord, he took hold of His feet and presented Him with both me and the Syamantaka jewel as tokens of his reverence. I am simply the Lord’s maidservant.	Śrī Jāmbavatī dijo: Sin saber que el Señor Kṛṣṇa no era otro que su mismo amo y su adorable Deidad, el esposo de la Diosa Sītā, mi padre luchó con Él durante veintisiete días. Cuando finalmente mi padre recobró el sentido y reconoció al Señor, tomó Sus pies y me obsequió a mí y la joya Syamantaka como muestra de su reverencia. Yo simplemente soy la sirvienta del Señor.

10.83.11	Śrī Kālindī said: The Lord knew I was performing severe austerities and penances with the hope of one day touching His lotus feet. So He came to me in the company of His friend and took my hand in marriage. Now I am engaged as a sweeper in His palace.	Śrī Kālindī dijo: El Señor sabía que yo estaba realizando severas austeridades y penitencias con la esperanza de algún día tocar Sus pies de loto. Así que vino a mí en compañía de Su amigo y tomó mi mano en matrimonio. Ahora estoy ocupada como barrendera en Su palacio.

10.83.12	Śrī Mitravindā said: At my svayaṁvara ceremony He came forward, defeated all the kings present — including my brothers, who dared insult Him — and took me away just as a lion removes his prey from amidst a pack of dogs. Thus Lord Kṛṣṇa, the shelter of the goddess of fortune, brought me to His capital city. May I be allowed to serve Him by washing His feet, life after life.	Śrī Mitravindā dijo: En mi ceremonia svayaṁvara, Él se adelantó, derrotó a todos los reyes presentes —incluyendo a mis hermanos, que se atrevieron a insultarlo— y me tomó tal como un león saca a su presa de entre una jauría de perros. Así, el Señor Kṛṣṇa, el refugio de la diosa de la fortuna, me llevó a Su ciudad capital. ¡Que se me permita servirlo lavando Sus pies, vida tras vida!

10.83.13-14	Śrī Satyā said: My father arranged for seven extremely powerful and vigorous bulls with deadly sharp horns to test the prowess of the kings who desired my hand in marriage. Although these bulls destroyed the false pride of many heroes, Lord Kṛṣṇa subdued them effortlessly, tying them up in the same way that children playfully tie up a goat’s kids. He thus purchased me with His valor. Then He took me away with my maidservants and a full army of four divisions, defeating all the kings who opposed Him along the road. May I be granted the privilege of serving that Lord.	Śrī Satyā dijo: Mi padre hizo que siete toros extremadamente poderosos y vigorosos, con cuernos afilados y mortales, pusieran a prueba la destreza de los reyes que deseaban mi mano en matrimonio. Aunque esos toros destruyeron el falso orgullo de muchos héroes, el Señor Kṛṣṇa los sometió sin esfuerzo, atándolos de la misma manera que los niños atan juguetonamente a los cabritos de una cabra. De ese modo, me compró con Su valor. Luego me llevó junto con mis sirvientas y un ejército completo de cuatro divisiones, derrotando a todos los reyes que se le opusieron a lo largo del camino. ¡Que se me conceda el privilegio de servir a este Señor!

10.83.15-16	Śrī Bhadrā said: My dear Draupadī, of his own free will my father invited his nephew Kṛṣṇa, to whom I had already dedicated my heart, and offered me to Him as His bride. My father presented me to the Lord with an akṣauhiṇi military guard and a retinue of my female companions. My ultimate perfection is this: to always be allowed to touch Lord Kṛṣṇa’s lotus feet as I wander from life to life, bound by my karma.	Śrī Bhadrā dijo: Mi querida Draupadī, por su propia voluntad mi padre invitó a su sobrino Kṛṣṇa, a quien yo ya había dedicado mi corazón y me ofreció a Él como Su novia. Mi padre me presentó al Señor con una guardia militar akṣauhiṇi y un séquito de mis compañeras femeninas. Mi máxima perfección es ésta: ¡que siempre se me permita tocar los pies de loto del Señor Kṛṣṇa mientras deambulo de vida en vida, atada por mi karma!

10.83.17	Śrī Lakṣmaṇā said: O Queen, I repeatedly heard Nārada Muni glorify the appearances and activities of Acyuta, and thus my heart also became attached to that Lord, Mukunda. Indeed, even Goddess Padmahastā chose Him as her husband after careful consideration, rejecting the great demigods who rule various planets.	Śrī Lakṣmaṇā dijo: ¡Oh, reina!, escuché repetidamente a Nārada Muni glorificar las apariciones y actividades de Acyuta, por eso, mi corazón también se apegó a este Señor Mukunda. De hecho, incluso la diosa Padmahasta lo eligió como esposo después de una cuidadosa consideración, rechazando a los grandes semidioses que gobiernan diversos planetas.

10.83.18	My father, Bṛhatsena, was by nature compassionate to his daughter, and knowing how I felt, O saintly lady, he arranged to fulfill my desire.	¡Oh, santa dama! mi padre, Bṛhatsena, era por naturaleza compasivo con su hija y sabiendo cómo me sentía, dispuso todo para cumplir mi deseo.

10.83.19	Just as a fish was used as a target in your svayaṁvara ceremony, O Queen, to assure that you would obtain Arjuna as your husband, so a fish was also used in my ceremony. In my case, however, it was concealed on all sides, and only its reflection could be seen in a pot of water below.	¡Oh, reina! así como en tu ceremonia svayaṁvara se utilizó un pez como blanco para asegurarte de que obtendrías a Arjuna como esposo, también se utilizó un pez en mi ceremonia. Sin embargo, en mi caso estaba oculto por todos lados y solo se podía ver su reflejo en una olla con agua que estaba abajo.

10.83.20	Hearing of this, thousands of kings expert in shooting arrows and in wielding other weapons converged from all directions on my father’s city, accompanied by their military teachers.	Al escuchar esto, miles de reyes expertos en disparar flechas y en manejar otras armas convergieron desde todas las direcciones hacia la ciudad de mi padre, acompañados de sus maestros militares.

10.83.21	My father properly honored each king according to his strength and seniority. Then those whose minds were fixed on me took up the bow and arrow and one by one tried to pierce the target in the midst of the assembly.	Mi padre honró debidamente a cada rey según su fuerza y antigüedad. Entonces aquellos que tenían la mente fija en mí tomaron el arco y la flecha, uno por uno intentaron perforar el objetivo en medio de la asamblea.

10.83.22	Some of them picked up the bow but could not string it, and so they threw it aside in frustration. Some managed to pull the bowstring toward the tip of the bow, only to have the bow spring back and knock them to the ground.	Algunos de ellos tomaron el arco, pero no pudieron tensarlo, así que lo tiraron a un lado frustrados. Algunos lograron tirar de la cuerda hacia la punta del arco, pero el arco saltó hacia atrás y los tiró al suelo.

10.83.23	A few heroes — namely Jarāsandha, Śiśupāla, Bhīma, Duryodhana, Karṇa and the King of Ambaṣṭha — succeeded in stringing the bow, but none of them could find the target.	Unos cuantos héroes —Jarāsandha, Śiśupāla, Bhīma, Duryodhana, Karṇa y el rey de Ambaṣṭha— lograron tensar el arco, pero ninguno de ellos pudo dar en el blanco.

10.83.24	Then Arjuna looked at the reflection of the fish in the water and determined its position. When he carefully shot his arrow at it, however, he did not pierce the target but merely grazed it.	Entonces Arjuna miró el reflejo del pez en el agua y determinó su posición. Sin embargo, cuando disparó su flecha con cuidado, no atravesó el objetivo, sino que sólo lo rozó.

10.83.25-26	After all the arrogant kings had given up, their pride broken, the Supreme Personality of Godhead picked up the bow, easily strung it and then fixed His arrow upon it. As the sun stood in the constellation Abhijit, He looked at the fish in the water only once and then pierced it with the arrow, knocking it to the ground.	Después de que todos los reyes arrogantes se rindieron, quebrado su orgullo, la Suprema Personalidad de Dios tomó el arco, lo tensó fácilmente y colocó Su flecha en él. Cuando el Sol estaba en la constelación de Abhijit, miró al pez en el agua solo una vez y entonces lo atravesó con la flecha, tirándolo al suelo.

10.83.27	Kettledrums resounded in the sky, and on the earth people shouted “Jaya! Jaya!” Overjoyed, demigods showered flowers.	Los timbales resonaron en el cielo y en la Tierra la gente gritó: «¡Jaya! ¡Jaya!». Llenos de alegría, los semidioses derramaron una lluvia de flores.

10.83.28	Just then I walked onto the ceremonial ground, the ankle bells on my feet gently tinkling. I was wearing new garments of the finest silk, tied with a belt, and I carried a brilliant necklace fashioned of gold and jewels. There was a shy smile on my face and a wreath of flowers in my hair.	En ese momento entré en el recinto ceremonial, con las campanillas que llevaba en los tobillos tintineando suavemente. Llevaba ropa nueva de la más fina seda, ceñida con un cinturón, también llevaba un brillante collar de oro y joyas. Tenía una sonrisa tímida en el rostro y una corona de flores en el pelo.

10.83.29	I lifted my face, which was encircled by my abundant locks and effulgent from the glow of my earrings reflected from my cheeks. Smiling coolly, I glanced about. Then, looking around at all the kings, I slowly placed the necklace on the shoulder of Murāri, who had captured my heart.	Levanté la cara, que estaba rodeada por mi abundante cabellera y resplandecía por el brillo de mis pendientes que se reflejaban en mis mejillas. Sonriendo con frialdad, miré a mi alrededor. Después, mirando a todos los reyes, coloqué lentamente el collar en el hombro de Murāri, quien capturó mi corazón.

10.83.30	Just then there were loud sounds of conchshells and mṛdaṅga, paṭaha, bherī and ānaka drums, as well as other instruments. Men and women began to dance, and singers began to sing.	En ese momento se escucharon fuertes sonidos de caracolas y tambores mṛdaṅga, paṭaha, bherī y ānaka, así como de otros instrumentos. Hombres y mujeres comenzaron a bailar y los cantantes a cantar.

10.83.31	The leading kings there could not tolerate my having chosen the Supreme Personality of Godhead, O Draupadī. Burning with lust, they became quarrelsome.	Los reyes más importantes de allí no pudieron tolerar que yo hubiera elegido a la Suprema Personalidad de Dios, ¡oh, Draupadī! Ardiendo de lujuria, se pusieron a pelear.

10.83.32	The Lord then placed me on His chariot, drawn by four most excellent horses. Donning His armor and readying His bow Śārṅga, He stood on the chariot, and there on the battleground He manifested His four arms.	Entonces el Señor me colocó en Su carro tirado por cuatro excelentes caballos. Se puso Su armadura y preparó Su arco Śārṅga, se paró en el carro y allí, en el campo de batalla, manifestó Sus cuatro brazos.

10.83.33	Dāruka drove the Lord’s gold-trimmed chariot as the kings looked on, O Queen, like small animals helplessly watching a lion.	¡oh Reina! Dāruka conducía el carro del Señor adornado con oro mientras los reyes observaban como pequeños animales que observan impotentes a un león.

10.83.34	The kings pursued the Lord like village dogs chasing a lion. Some kings, raising their bows, stationed themselves on the road to stop Him as He passed by.	Los reyes perseguían al Señor como perros de aldea que persiguen a un león. Algunos reyes, alzando sus arcos, se apostaron en el camino para detenerlo cuando pasara.

10.83.35	These warriors were deluged by arrows shot from the Lord’s bow, Śārṅga. Some of the kings fell on the battlefield with severed arms, legs and necks; the rest gave up the fight and fled.	Estos guerreros fueron inundados por las flechas disparadas por el arco del Señor, Śārṅga. Algunos de los reyes cayeron en el campo de batalla con brazos, piernas y cuellos amputados; el resto abandonó la lucha y huyó.

10.83.36	The Lord of the Yadus then entered His capital city, Kuśasthalī [Dvārakā], which is glorified in heaven and on earth. The city was elaborately decorated with flagpoles carrying banners that blocked the sun, and also with splendid archways. As Lord Kṛṣṇa entered, He appeared like the sun-god entering his abode.	El Señor de los Yadus entró entonces en Su ciudad capital, Kuśasthalī [Dvārakā], que es glorificada en el cielo y en la Tierra. La ciudad estaba decorada profusamente con astas de banderas que sostenían estandartes que bloqueaban el Sol, también con espléndidos arcos. Cuando el Señor Kṛṣṇa entró, parecía el dios del Sol entrando en su morada.

10.83.37	My father honored his friends, family and in-laws with priceless clothing and jewelry and with royal beds, thrones and other furnishings.	Mi padre honró a sus amigos, familiares y suegros con ropa, joyas de valor incalculable, lechos reales, tronos y otros muebles.

10.83.38	With devotion he presented the perfectly complete Lord with a number of maidservants bedecked with precious ornaments. Accompanying these maidservants were guards walking on foot and others riding elephants, chariots and horses. He also gave the Lord extremely valuable weapons.	Con devoción, le entregó al perfectamente completo Señor, unas sirvientas adornadas con preciosos ornamentos. Acompañaban a estas sirvientas guardias que iban a pie y otros montados en elefantes, carros y caballos. También le dio al Señor armas extremadamente valiosas.

10.83.39	Thus, by renouncing all material association and practicing austere penances, we queens have all become personal maidservants of the self-satisfied Supreme Lord.	Así, al renunciar a toda asociación material y practicar austeras penitencias, todas nosotras, las reinas, nos convertimos en sirvientas personales del satisfecho de Sí mismo Señor Supremo.

10.83.40	Rohiṇī-devi, speaking for the other queens, said: After killing Bhaumāsura and his followers, the Lord found us in the demon’s prison and could understand that we were the daughters of the kings whom Bhauma had defeated during his conquest of the earth. The Lord set us free, and because we had been constantly meditating upon His lotus feet, the source of liberation from material entanglement, He agreed to marry us, though His every desire is already fulfilled.	Hablando en nombre de las demás reinas, Rohiṇī-devi dijo: Después de matar a Bhaumāsura y a sus seguidores, el Señor nos encontró en la prisión del demonio y pudo comprender que éramos las hijas de los reyes a quienes Bhauma derrotó durante su conquista de la Tierra. El Señor nos liberó y como estuvimos meditando constantemente en Sus pies de loto, la fuente de la liberación del enredo material, accedió a casarse con nosotras, aunque todos Sus deseos ya se habían cumplido.

10.83.41-42	O saintly lady, we do not desire dominion over the earth, the sovereignty of the King of heaven, unlimited facility for enjoyment, mystic power, the position of Lord Brahmā, immortality or even attainment of the kingdom of God. We simply desire to carry on our heads the glorious dust of Lord Kṛṣṇa’s feet, enriched by the fragrance of kuṅkuma from His consort’s bosom.	¡Oh, santa dama! No deseamos el dominio sobre la Tierra, la soberanía del Rey del Cielo, la posibilidad ilimitada de disfrutar, el poder místico, la posición del Señor Brahmā, la inmortalidad o incluso el logro del reino de Dios. Simplemente deseamos llevar sobre nuestras cabezas el glorioso polvo de los pies del Señor Kṛṣṇa, enriquecido con la fragancia de kuṅkuma de los senos de Su consorte.

10.83.43	We desire the same contact with the Supreme Lord’s feet that the young women of Vraja, the cowherd boys and even the aborigine Pulinda women desire — the touch of the dust He leaves on the plants and grass as He tends His cows.	Deseamos el mismo contacto con los pies del Señor Supremo que desean las mujeres jóvenes de Vraja, los vaqueritos e incluso las mujeres aborígenes de Pulinda: el toque del polvo que Él deja en las plantas y la hierba mientras cuida a Sus vacas.
