nṛga uvāca
nṛgo nāma narendro ’ham
ikṣvāku-tanayaḥ prabho
dāniṣv ākhyāyamāneṣu
yadi te karṇam aspṛśam

WORD BY WORD — PALABRA POR PALABRA

TRANSLATION — TRADUCCION

King Nṛga said: I am a king known as Nṛga, the son of Ikṣvāku. Perhaps, Lord, You have heard of me when lists of charitable men were recited.

El rey Nṛga dijo: Soy un rey conocido como Nṛga, el hijo de Ikṣvāku. Señor, quizás hayas escuchado hablar de mí cuando se recitaban listas de hombres caritativos.

PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO

	The ācāryas point out here that although a tentative expression is used — “perhaps You have heard of me” — the implication is that there is no doubt.			Los ācāryas señalan aquí que aunque se utiliza una expresión tentativa – «tal vez hayas escuchado hablar de mí» – la implicación es que no hay duda.
