saṅkruddhas tam acakṣāṇo
ghrāṇa-dṛṣṭiḥ sa keśavam
parāmṛśat puṣkareṇa
sa prasahya vinirgataḥ

TRANSLATION — TRADUCCION

Infuriated at being unable to see Lord Keśava, the elephant sought Him out with his sense of smell. Once again Kuvalayāpīḍa seized the Lord with the end of his trunk, only to have the Lord forcefully free Himself.

Enfurecido por no poder ver al Señor Keśava, el elefante Lo buscó con su sentido del olfato. Una vez más, Kuvalayāpīḍa agarró al Señor con el extremo de su trompa, sólo para que el Señor se liberara por la fuerza.

PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO

	Lord Kṛṣṇa allowed the elephant to seize Him so that the beast would be encouraged to keep fighting. Once Kuvalayāpīḍa had thus become proud, Lord Kṛṣṇa again thwarted him with His superior potency.			El Señor Kṛṣṇa permitió que el elefante lo agarrara para animar a la bestia a seguir luchando. Una vez que Kuvalayāpīḍa se puso así de orgulloso, el Señor Kṛṣṇa volvió a frustrarlo con Su superior potencia.
