| 10.26.1 | | Śukadeva Gosvāmī said: The cowherd men were astonished when they saw Kṛṣṇa’s activities, such as lifting Govardhana Hill. Unable to understand His transcendental potency, they approached Nanda Mahārāja and spoke as follows. | | Śukadeva Gosvāmī dijo: Los pastores de vacas quedaron asombrados cuando vieron las actividades de Kṛṣṇa, como levantar la colina Govardhana. Incapaces de comprender Su potencia trascendental, se acercaron a Nanda Mahārāja y le dijeron lo siguiente. | | | 10.26.2 | | [The cowherd men said:] Since this boy performs such extraordinary activities, how could He warrant a birth among worldly men like us — a birth that for Him would seem contemptible? | | [Los pastores dijeron:] Dado que este niño realiza actividades tan extraordinarias, ¿cómo podría justificar un nacimiento entre hombres mundanos como nosotros, un nacimiento que para Él parecería despreciable? | | | 10.26.3 | | How could this seven-year-old boy playfully hold up the great hill Govardhana with one hand, just as a mighty elephant holds up a lotus flower? | | ¿Cómo pudo este niño de siete años sostener juguetonamente la gran colina de Govardhana con una mano, tal como un poderoso elefante sostiene una flor de loto? | | | 10.26.4 | | As a mere infant who had hardly yet opened His eyes, He drank the breast milk of the powerful demoness Pūtanā and then sucked out her very life air as well, just as the force of time sucks out the youth of one’s body. | | Como un simple bebé que apenas había abierto Sus ojos, bebió la leche materna de la poderosa diablesa Pūtanā y luego succionó también su aire vital, tal como la fuerza del tiempo succiona la juventud del cuerpo. | | | 10.26.5 | | Once, when only three months old, little Kṛṣṇa was crying and kicking up His feet as He lay beneath a huge cart. In this way the Lord made the water of that river free of the snake’s powerful poison. | | Kṛṣṇa reprendió a la serpiente más venenosa, Kāliya, después de humillarla, la expulsó por la fuerza del lago Yamunā. In the past He assumed three different colors — white, red and yellow — and now He has appeared in a blackish color. | | [Garga Muni había dicho:] Tu hijo Kṛṣṇa aparece como una encarnación en cada milenio. En el pasado asumió tres colores diferentes: blanco, rojo y amarillo, ahora apareció en un color negruzco. | | | 10.26.17 | | For many reasons, this beautiful son of yours sometimes appeared previously as the son of Vasudeva. Therefore, those who are learned sometimes call this child Vāsudeva. | | Por muchas razones, este hermoso hijo tuyo en ocasiones apareció anteriormente como hijo de Vasudeva. Por eso, aquellos que son eruditos en ocsiones llaman a este niño Vāsudeva. | | | 10.26.18 | | For this son of yours there are many forms and names according to His transcendental qualities and activities. These are known to me, but people in general do not understand them. | | Para este hijo tuyo hay muchas formas y nombres de acuerdo con Sus cualidades y actividades trascendentales. Las conozco, pero la gente en general no las entiende. | | | 10.26.19 | | To increase the transcendental bliss of the cowherd men of Gokula, this child will always act auspiciously for you. And by His grace only, you will surpass all difficulties. | | Para aumentar la dicha trascendental de los vaqueros de Gokula este niño siempre actuará de manera auspiciosa para ti. Sólo por Su gracia, superarás todas las dificultades. | | | 10.26.20 | | O Nanda Mahārāja, as recorded in history, when there was an irregular, incapable government, Indra having been dethroned, and when honest people were being harassed and disturbed by thieves, this child appeared in order to curb the rogues and to protect the people and enable them to flourish. | | ¡Oh, Nanda Mahārāja, tal como está registrado en la historia, cuando había un gobierno irregular e incapaz, después de haber destronado a Indra y cuando la gente honesta estaba siendo acosada y perturbada por ladrones, este niño apareció para frenar a los pícaros y proteger a la gente y permitirles florecer. | | | 10.26.21 | | Demons cannot harm the demigods, who always have Lord Viṣṇu on their side. In His transcendental qualities, opulence, name, fame and influence, He is exactly like Nārāyaṇa. Por lo tanto, no debes sorprenderte de Sus actividades. | | | 10.26.23 | | [Nanda Mahārāja continued:] After Garga Ṛṣi spoke these words to me and returned home, I began to consider that Kṛṣṇa, who keeps us free from trouble, is actually an expansion of Lord Nārāyaṇa. | | [Nanda Mahārāja continuó:] Después de que Garga Ṛṣi me dijera estas palabras y regresara a casa, comencé a considerar que Kṛṣṇa, quien nos mantiene libres de problemas, es en realidad una expansión del Señor Nārāyaṇa. | | | 10.26.24 | | [Śukadeva Gosvāmī continued:] Having heard Nanda Mahārāja relate the statements of Garga Muni, the residents of Vṛndāvana became enlivened. Their perplexity was gone, and they worshiped Nanda and Lord Kṛṣṇa with great respect. | | [Śukadeva Gosvāmī continuó:] Después de escuchar a Nanda Mahārāja relatar las declaraciones de Garga Muni, los residentes de Vṛndāvana se animaron. Su perplejidad desapareció y adoraron a Nanda y al Señor Kṛṣṇa con gran respeto. | | | 10.26.25 | | Indra became angry when his sacrifice was disrupted, and thus he caused rain and hail to fall on Gokula, accompanied by lightning and powerful winds, all of which brought great suffering to the cowherds, animals and women there. When Lord Kṛṣṇa, who is by nature always compassionate, saw the condition of those who had only Him as their shelter, He smiled broadly and lifted Govardhana Hill with one hand, just as a small child picks up a mushroom to play with it. Holding up the hill, He protected the cowherd community. May He, Govinda, the Lord of the cows and the destroyer of Indra’s false pride, be pleased with us. | | Indra se enojó cuando su sacrificio fue interrumpido, así provocó que cayera lluvia y granizo sobre Gokula, acompañados de relámpagos y vientos poderosos, todo lo cual trajo gran sufrimiento a los pastores, animales y mujeres del lugar.
