 | Vasudeva’s mind was full of anxiety because his wife was facing danger, but in order to please the cruel, shameless and sinful Kaṁsa, he externally smiled and spoke to him as follows. | | | Viendo a su esposa en peligro, Vasudeva tenía la mente llena de ansiedad. PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | Sometimes one must act duplicitously in a dangerous position, as Vasudeva did to save his wife. The material world is complicated, and to execute one’s duties, one cannot avoid adopting such diplomacy. Vasudeva did everything possible to save his wife for the sake of begetting Kṛṣṇa. This indicates that one may act duplicitously for the purpose of saving Kṛṣṇa and His interests. According to the arrangement already foretold, Kṛṣṇa was to appear through Vasudeva and Devakī to kill Kaṁsa. Vasudeva, therefore, had to do everything to save the situation. Although all the events were prearranged by Kṛṣṇa, a devotee must try his best to serve the purpose of Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa Himself is all-powerful, but it is not that a devotee should therefore sit idly and leave everything to Him. This instruction is also found in Bhagavad-gītā. Although Kṛṣṇa was doing everything for Arjuna, Arjuna never sat down idly as a nonviolent gentleman. Rather, he tried his best to fight the battle and be victorious. | | | A veces, en situaciones de peligro, es necesario fingir lo que no se siente, como hizo Vasudeva para salvar a su esposa. El mundo material es complicado, a la hora de cumplir con nuestros deberes, no podemos dejar de lado la diplomacia. Vasudeva hizo todo lo posible por salvar a su esposa para así poder engendrar a Kṛṣṇa. Esto indica que, cuando se trata de salvar a Kṛṣṇa y Sus intereses, es correcto ocultar las verdaderas intenciones. Tal y como estaba profetizado que sucedería, Kṛṣṇa iba a nacer de Vasudeva y Devakī para matar a Kaṁsa. Por consiguiente, Vasudeva tenía que hacer todo lo posible por resolver la situación. Aunque todo había sido establecido ya por Kṛṣṇa de antemano, el devoto debe hacer todo lo posible por cumplir la misión de Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa es todopoderoso, pero eso no significa que el devoto se entrega al ocio y lo deja todo en manos de Kṛṣṇa. Esta instrucción se recoge también en el Bhagavad-gītā. Aunque Kṛṣṇa era quien lo hacía todo para Arjuna, Arjuna no se quedó sentado, sin hacer nada, como un hidalgo no violento.
