तस्यैवं मेऽनुरक्तस्य प्रश्रितस्य हतैनसः
श्रद्दधानस्य बालस्य दान्तस्यानुचरस्य च

tasyaivaṁ me ’nuraktasya
praśritasya hatainasaḥ
śraddadhānasya bālasya
dāntasyānucarasya ca

TRANSLATION — TRADUCCION

I was very much attached to those sages. I was gentle in behavior, and all my sins were eradicated in their service. In my heart I had strong faith in them. I had subjugated the senses, and I was strictly following them with body and mind.

Yo estaba muy apegado a esos sabios, tenía un comportamiento sencillo, y todos mis pecados fueron erradicados en el servicio a ellos. En mi corazón, yo tenía una gran fe en ellos. Yo había subyugado los sentidos, y con la mente y el cuerpo estaba siguiendo a los sabios estrictamente.

PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO

	These are the necessary qualifications of a prospective candidate who can expect to be elevated to the position of a pure unadulterated devotee. Such a candidate must always seek the association of pure devotees. One should not be misled by a pseudodevotee. He himself must be plain and gentle to receive the instructions of such a pure devotee. A pure devotee is a completely surrendered soul unto the Personality of Godhead. He knows the Personality of Godhead as the supreme proprietor and all others as His servitors. And by the association of pure devotees only, one can get rid of all sins accumulated by mundane association. A neophyte devotee must faithfully serve the pure devotee, and he should be very much obedient and strictly follow the instructions. These are the signs of a devotee who is determined to achieve success even in the existing duration of life.			Esos son los requisitos que debe cumplir un posible candidato que pueda esperar ser elevado a la posición de un devoto puro e inmaculado. Dicho candidato debe buscar siempre la asociación de los devotos puros. Uno no debe dejarse desencaminar por un seudodevoto. Uno mismo debe ser sencillo y dócil para recibir las instrucciones de dicho devoto puro. Un devoto puro es un alma completamente entregada a la Personalidad de Dios. Él sabe que la Personalidad de Dios es el propietario supremo, y que todos los demás seres son Sus servidores. Y únicamente mediante la asociación de los devotos puros puede uno librarse de todos los pecados que se han acumulado como resultado de la asociación mundana. Un devoto neófito debe servir fielmente al devoto puro, y debe ser muy obediente y seguir estrictamente las instrucciones. Ésos son los signos de un devoto que está decidido a lograr el éxito incluso durante su vida actual.
