तन्मे धर्मभृतां श्रेष्ठ स्थानं निर्देष्टुमर्हसि
यत्रैव नियतो वत्स्य आतिष्ठंस्तेऽनुशासनम्
tan me dharma-bhṛtāṁ śreṣṭha
sthānaṁ nirdeṣṭum arhasi
yatraiva niyato vatsya
ātiṣṭhaṁs te ’nuśāsanam

 | Therefore, O chief amongst the protectors of religion, please fix some place for me where I can live permanently under the protection of your government. | | | Por lo tanto, ¡oh, tú, el principal de los protectores de la religión!, por favor asígname un lugar en el que pueda vivir permanentemente bajo la protección de tu gobierno. | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | The personality of Kali addressed Mahārāja Parīkṣit as the chief amongst the protectors of religiosity because the King refrained from killing a person who surrendered unto him. A surrendered soul should be given all protection, even though he may be an enemy. That is the principle of religion. And we can just imagine what sort of protection is given by the Personality of Godhead to the person who surrenders unto Him, not as an enemy but as a devoted servitor. The Lord protects the surrendered soul from all sins and all resultant reactions of sinful acts (Bhagavad-gītā 18.66). | | | La personalidad de Kali se dirigió a Mahārāja Parīkṣit como el principal entre los protectores de la religiosidad, porque el Rey se abstuvo de matar a una persona que se entregó a él. A un alma rendida se le debe brindar plena protección, aun a pesar de que se trate de un enemigo. Eso dice el principio de la religión. Y podemos imaginarnos entonces qué clase de protección le da la Personalidad de Dios a la persona que se entrega a Él, no como enemigo, sino como un consagrado servidor.
