सितातपत्रं जग्राह मुक्तादामविभूषितम्
रत्नदण्डं गुडाकेशः प्रियः प्रियतमस्य ह

 | At that time Arjuna, the great warrior and conqueror of sleep, who is the intimate friend of the most beloved Supreme Lord, took up an umbrella which had a handle of jewels and was embroidered with lace and pearls. | | | En esa oportunidad, Arjuna, el gran guerrero y conquistador del sueño, quien es el amigo íntimo del muy amado Señor Supremo, tomó una sombrilla que tenía un mango hecho de joyas y que estaba bordada con encaje y perlas. | |
PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | Gold, jewels, pearls and valuable stones were used in the luxurious royal ceremonies. They are all nature’s gifts and are produced by the hills, oceans, etc., by the order of the Lord, when man does not waste his valuable time in producing unwanted things in the name of necessities. By so-called development of industrial enterprises, they are now using pots of gutta-percha instead of metals like gold, silver, brass and copper. They are using margarine instead of purified butter, and one fourth of the city population has no shelter. | | | El oro, las joyas, las perlas y las piedras preciosas se utilizaban en las lujosas ceremonias reales. Todos éstos son regalos de la naturaleza, y los producen las colinas, los océanos, etc., por orden del Señor, cuando el hombre no desperdicia su valioso tiempo en producir cosas no deseadas en el nombre de artículos de primera necesidad. Mediante el mal llamado desarrollo de las empresas industriales, ahora se están usando recipientes de gutapercha en vez de metales como el oro, la plata, el bronce y el cobre. Ahora se usa margarina en vez de mantequilla purificada, y una cuarta parte de la población urbana carece de refugio. | | |
