 |  | When the sraddha ceremony for the departed was complete and Vyasadeva saw the people bewildered with grief and his own mother, Satyavati, agonizing over the loss, Vyasadeva said to her, "The happy times are passed, and dreaded times are coming quickly upon us. Now each new day will bring greater sin, for the earth has lost her innocent youth. Utterly infested with delusion, crowded and choking with hypocrisy, a terrible age is coming, and it will be the ruin of religion, sacrifice, and ideal conduct.
| | Cuando la ceremonia para los difuntos fue completada y Vyasadeva vió a la gente aturdida por la pena y a su propia madre, Satyavati, agonizante por la pérdida, Vyasadeva le dijo: "Los tiempos felices han pasado y tiempos de pavor se aproximan rápidamente sobre nosotros, ahora cada nuevo día traerá un pecado más grande y la Tierra ha perdido su inocente juventud. Completamente infestada con engaño, atestada y ahogada por la hipocresía una terrible era está llegando y será la ruina de la religión, el sacrificio y de la conducta ideal".
| | | You must go now. Take up the life of renunciation by linking yourself with God, and live in the forest with the ascetics. I do not want you to see the tragic devastation of your dynasty.
| | "Debes irte ahora, toma la vida de renunciación y vinculate con Dios, vive en el bosque con los ascetas, no quiero que veas la trágica devastación de tu dinastía".
| | | So be it, she said, in complete agreement with her son. Satyavati then entered the quarters of her daughter-in-law and said, Ambika, we have heard that the Bharata men, with their relatives and grandsons, will all perish, and it will happen by the wicked counsel of your son, Dhrtarastra. Let us take your sister, who is tortured with grief over the death of her son Pandu, and if you think it is all right, let us go to the forest and seek the blessings of the Supreme Lord.
| | Satyavati dijo: "Que así sea", luego en completa armonía con su hijo entró a las habitaciones de su nuera y le dijo: "Ambika, hemos escuchado que los Bharata junto con sus familiares y nietos perecerán y eso sucederá debido al malvado consejo de tu hijo, Dhrtarastra. Tomemos a tu hermana, quien está torturada por la pena debido a la muerte de su hijo Pandu y si piensas que es correcto, vámonos al bosque a buscar las bendiciones del Señor Supremo".
| | | So be it, replied Ambika.
| | "Que así sea" respondió Ambika.
| | | Satyavati, ever true to her vows, then received final permission from her stepson Bhisma, and taking her two daughters-in-law with her, she went to the forest. O best of the Bharatas, those godly women lived in the forest and performed the most difficult and frightening austerities. Then, giving up their mortal bodies, they all achieved the highest spiritual perfection.
| | Satyavati siendo siempre fiel a sus votos y después de recibir el permiso definitivo por parte de su hijastro Bhisma y tomando a sus dos nueras con ella se fué al bosque. ¡Oh el mejor de los Bharatas!, ésas mujeres religiosas vivieron en el bosque y realizaron las austeridades más difíciles y atemorizantes, luego abandonando sus cuerpos mortales todas ellas lograron la perfección espiritual más elevada.
