सांख्ययॊगौ पृथग बालाः परवदन्ति न पण्डिताः
एकम अप्य आस्थितः सम्यग उभयॊर विन्दते फलम

TRANSLATION — TRADUCCION

Only the ignorant speak of devotional service [karma-yoga] as being different from the analytical study of the material world [Sāṅkhya]. Those who are actually learned say that he who applies himself well to one of these paths achieves the results of both.
Sólo los ignorantes hablan del servicio devocional [karma-yoga] como diferente del estudio analítico del mundo material [Sāṅkhya]. Aquellos que en realidad son eruditos dicen que quien se consagra bien a uno de estos senderos, logra los resultados de ambos.

PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO

The aim of the analytical study of the material world is to find the soul of existence. The soul of the material world is Viṣṇu, or the Supersoul. Devotional service to the Lord entails service to the Supersoul. One process is to find the root of the tree, and the other is to water the root. The real student of Sāṅkhya philosophy finds the root of the material world, Viṣṇu, and then, in perfect knowledge, engages himself in the service of the Lord. Therefore, in essence, there is no difference between the two because the aim of both is Viṣṇu. Those who do not know the ultimate end say that the purposes of Sāṅkhya and karma-yoga are not the same, but one who is learned knows the unifying aim in these different processes.

La finalidad del e stu dio anal ític o del mundo mate rial es encontrar el alma de la existencia. El alma del mundo material es Viṣṇu, o sea, la Superalma. El servicio devocional al Señor entraña el servicio a la Superalma. Un proceso es encontrar la raíz del árbol, el siguiente es regar la raíz. El verdadero estudiante de la filosofía sāṅkhya encuentra la raíz del mundo material, Viṣṇu, entonces con conocimiento perfecto se dedica al servicio al Señor. Por eso, en esencia, no hay diferencia entre los dos porque la meta de ambos es Viṣṇu. Aquellos que ignoran la finalidad definitiva dicen que los propósitos dél sāṅkhya y del karma-yoga no son iguales, pero aquel que es docto conoce la finalidad unificadora en estos diferentes procesos.
