TRANSLATION TRADUCCION
| O Pārtha, happy are the kṣatriyas to whom such fighting opportunities come unsought, opening for them the doors of the heavenly planets.
| | ¡Oh Pārtha!, dichosos los kṣatriyas a quienes sin buscarlas, se les presentan semejantes oportunidades de lucha, abriéndoles de par en par las puertas de los planetas celestiales.

PURPORT SIGNIFICADO
| As supreme teacher of the world, Lord Kṛṣṇa condemns the attitude of Arjuna, who said, “I do not find any good in this fighting. It will cause perpetual habitation in hell.” Such statements by Arjuna were due to ignorance only. He wanted to become nonviolent in the discharge of his specific duty. For a kṣatriya to be on the battlefield and to become nonviolent is the philosophy of fools. In the Parāśara-smṛti, or religious codes made by Parāśara, the great sage and father of Vyāsadeva, it is stated:
| | Como supremo maestro del mundo, el Señor Kṛṣṇa condena la actitud de Arjuna, quien dijo: “No encuentro bien alguno en esta lucha, ella causará permanencia perpetua en el infierno”. Tales afirmaciones de Arjuna se debían únicamente a la ignorancia. Él quería practicar la no violencia en el desempeño de su deber específico. Para un kṣatriya, estar en un campo de batalla y tornarse no violento es filosofía de tontos. En el Parāśara-smṛti, o códigos religiosos establecidos por Parāśara, el gran sabio y padre de Vyāsadeva, se afirma:

| | The kṣatriya’s duty is to protect the citizens from all kinds of difficulties, and for that reason he has to apply violence in suitable cases for law and order. Therefore he has to conquer the soldiers of inimical kings, and thus, with religious principles, he should rule over the world.
| | El deber del kṣatriya consiste en proteger a los ciudadanos de toda clase de dificultades, y por esa razón tiene que aplicar la violencia en determinados casos, para mantener la ley y el orden. Por lo tanto, tiene que conquistar a los soldados de los reyes enemigos y en consecuencia, gobernar el mundo con principios religiosos.
| | Considering all aspects, Arjuna had no reason to refrain from fighting. If he should conquer his enemies, he would enjoy the kingdom; and if he should die in the battle, he would be elevated to the heavenly planets, whose doors were wide open to him. Fighting would be for his benefit in either case.
| | Considerando todos los aspectos, Arjuna no tenía razón para abstenerse de luchar. En el caso de conquistar a sus enemigos, gozaría del reino; y si moría en la batalla sería elevado a los planetas celestiales cuyas puertas estaban abiertas para él de par en par. En cualquier caso, el luchar le sería provechoso.
