जातस्य हि धरुवॊ मृत्युर धरुवं जन्म मृतस्य च तस्माद अपरिहार्ये ऽरथे न तवं शॊचितुम अर्हसि
jātasya hi dhruvo mṛtyur dhruvaṁ janma mṛtasya ca tasmād aparihārye ’rthe na tvaṁ śocitum arhasi

TRANSLATION TRADUCCION
| One who has taken his birth is sure to die, and after death one is sure to take birth again. Therefore, in the unavoidable discharge of your duty, you should not lament.
| | Para el que nace la muerte es segura; y para el que ha muerto el nacimiento es seguro. Por lo tanto, no debes lamentarte en el inevitable desempeño de tu deber.

PURPORT SIGNIFICADO
| One has to take birth according to one’s activities of life. And after finishing one term of activities, one has to die to take birth for the next. In this way one is going through one cycle of birth and death after another without liberation. This cycle of birth and death does not, however, support unnecessary murder, slaughter and war. But at the same time, violence and war are inevitable factors in human society for keeping law and order.
| | Uno tiene que nacer de acuerdo con las actividades de su vida. Y, después de finalizar un período de actividades, es necesario morir para volver a nacer y comenzar el período siguiente. En esta forma rota el ciclo de nacimiento y muerte, uno tras otro, sin liberación. Este ciclo de nacimiento y muerte no apoya sin embargo el homicidio, la matanza de animales y la guerra innecesarios. Pero al mismo tiempo, la violencia y la guerra son factores inevitables en la sociedad humana para mantener la ley y el órden.
| | The Battle of Kurukṣetra, being the will of the Supreme, was an inevitable event, and to fight for the right cause is the duty of a kṣatriya. Why should he be afraid of or aggrieved at the death of his relatives since he was discharging his proper duty? He did not deserve to break the law, thereby becoming subjected to the reactions of sinful acts, of which he was so afraid. By avoiding the discharge of his proper duty, he would not be able to stop the death of his relatives, and he would be degraded due to his selection of the wrong path of action.
| | Por ser voluntad del Supremo, la Batalla de Kurukṣetra era un acontecimiento inevitable, y el deber de un kṣatriya consiste en luchar por una causa justa. ¿Por qué habría Arjuna de temer o lamentarse por la muerte de sus parientes si estaba cumpliendo correctamente con su deber? No era apropiado que quebrantara la ley y quedara por ello sujeto a las reacciones de los pecaminosos, las cuales tanto temía. Evadiendo el desempeño correcto de su deber propio, no sería capaz de detener la muerte de sus parientes, y sería degradado debido a su elección de la senda errónea de la acción.
