यथा नदीनां बहवॊ ऽमबुवेगाः; समुद्रम एवाभिमुखा दरवन्ति
तथा तवामी नरलॊकवीरा; विशन्ति वक्त्राण्य अभिविज्वलन्ति
yathā nadīnāṁ bahavo ’mbu-vegāḥ
samudram evābhimukhā dravanti
tathā tavāmī nara-loka-vīrā
viśanti vaktrāṇy abhivijvalanti

TRANSLATION — TRADUCCION
 | As the many waves of the rivers flow into the ocean, so do all these great warriors enter blazing into Your mouths.

PURPORT — SIGNIFICADO
| | Although Arjuna knew that Kṛṣṇa was his friend and the Supreme Personality of Godhead, he was puzzled by the various forms exhibited by Kṛṣṇa. Therefore he asked further about the actual mission of this devastating force. It is written in the Vedas that the Supreme Truth destroys everything, even the brāhmaṇas. As stated in the Kaṭha Upaniṣad (1.2.25),
| | Aunque Arjuna sabía que Kṛṣṇa era su amigo y la Suprema Personalidad de Dios, sin embargo, estaba confuso por las diversas formas que Kṛṣṇa exhibía. Por lo tanto, volvió a preguntar acerca de la verdadera misión de esta fuerza devastadora. Está escrito en los Vedas que la Verdad Suprema lo destruye todo, hasta a los brahmaṇas. | | | Eventually all the brāhmaṇas, kṣatriyas and everyone else are devoured like a meal by the Supreme. This form of the Supreme Lord is the all-devouring giant, and here Kṛṣṇa presents Himself in that form of all-devouring time. Except for a few Pāṇḍavas, everyone who was present on that battlefield would be devoured by Him. Arjuna was not in favor of the fight, and he thought it was better not to fight; then there would be no frustration. In reply, the Lord is saying that even if he did not fight, every one of them would be destroyed, for that was His plan. If Arjuna stopped fighting, they would die in another way. Death could not be checked, even if he did not fight. In fact, they were already dead. Time is destruction, and all manifestations are to be vanquished by the desire of the Supreme Lord. That is the law of nature.
| | A su debido tiempo todos los brāhmaṇas, kṣatriyas y todos los demás son devorados por el Supremo. Esta forma del Señor Supremo es un gigante que lo devora todo, aquí Kṛṣṇa Se presenta en esa forma del tiempo omnidevorador. Con excepción de unos cuantos Pāṇḍavas, todos aquellos que estaban presentes en aquel campo de batalla serían devorados por El. Arjuna no estaba en favor de la lucha y pensó que era mejor no luchar pues entonces no habría frustración. En respuesta, el Señor dijo que aun cuando él no luchara, todos ellos serían destruidos, pues ese era su plan. Si dejara de luchar, ellos morirían de otra manera. No podría atajar a la muerte, aun cuando no luchase. De hecho, ellos ya estaban muertos. El tiempo es destrucción y todas las manifestaciones habrán de perecer por el deseo del Señor Supremo. Esa es la ley de la naturaleza.
